With a diverse faculty of esteemed historians and a wide range of courses, we provide students with the tools to critically analyze historical events , understand their global context and develop valuable skills for the future.

B.A History graduates can prepare for a variety of careers, including education, research, government and business. Historians can also work in archival and record management, presenting historical documents and records.

Pass in 10+2 (or) Equivalent

  • To develop a broad understanding of world history, including key events, figures, and civilizations.
  • To cultivate critical thinking skills through the analysis and interpretation of historical sources.
  • To foster research skills, including the ability to locate, evaluate, and utilize primary and secondary sources.
  • To enhance written and oral communication skills for effectively conveying historical knowledge and arguments.
  • To explore diverse perspectives and approaches within the field of history, including social, cultural, political, and economic frameworks.
  • To encourage interdisciplinary connections with related fields such as anthropology, sociology, political science, and literature.
  • To prepare students for further academic study at the graduate level or for careers in fields such as education, public history, archival work, museum curation, journalism, law, and public service.

    Civil Services:

    • Indian Administrative Service (IAS): B.A. History graduates can pursue the prestigious IAS exam conducted by UPSC. They can work in administrative roles at the district, state, or national level, where their understanding of historical contexts and analytical skills can be valuable for policymaking and governance.

    Indian Foreign Services (IFS):

    • B.A. History graduates can also opt for the Indian Foreign Service through UPSC exams. They can work in diplomatic roles, representing India’s interests abroad, negotiating treaties, and engaging in international relations. A solid understanding of history and geopolitics is crucial in this field.

    Indian Police Service (IPS):

    Researcher/Policy Analyst:

    Academician/Educator:
