B.A. English

B.A. English is three years undergraduate course affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. Our degrees give you the high-level skills of critical analysis, communication, negotiation, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and cultural understanding that will be crucial to your success, both during and after college. Studying English Literature opens up a world of inspiration and creativity, while also developing skills that are essential for today’s global environment. It is a chance to discover how literature makes sense of the world through stories, poems, novels, prose, essays, and plays. It is also a chance to sharpen your own ability to write, read, analyze, and persuade.

Eligibility

Pass in 10+2 (or) Equivalent

  • Eligible to write all Competitive Exams (for graduates with any degree) which are conducted by State and Central Governments. (TNPSC’ GROUP I AND II EXAMS, SSC, INDIAN RAILWAYS’ EXAMS, LIC’s EXAMS, BANKING EXAMS).

Infrastructure

  • A well-equipped our Department Library caters to the needs of the students. It has more than 600 modern and classical text books available in English Department Library. Moreover, the specimen copies received from the publishers are preserved for the disposal of the students. Internet facilities for staff and students are provided centrally. In addition, students are allowed to access literary e-journals and magazines in our digital library.
  • The department has well equipped English language Communication Lab.
  • Glob arena software is used in our English language Communication Lab.
  • Moreover, Drama shows and slide shows are arranged to create interest in literature among the students.
